Chesapeake Pediatric Dental Group was established in 2005 to help address the special needs that children have when it comes to compassionate, quality dental care. It was always the goal of this practice to provide all children, from all walks of life, an environment where they can have positive experiences. Not only do we try to give positive dental experiences, but also try to provide children with a loving and caring atmosphere where they are all treated as individuals.
Drs. Koymen, Tennassee, and Jolesz are board-certified pediatric dentists who are concerned with access to quality dental care for children in the State of Maryland, including White Marsh. The goal of Chesapeake Pediatric Dental Group is to give children a “positive” dental experience at any early age so that they may have enjoyable visits as the develop through the years. With the knowledge and experience of our doctors and staff, we are able to offer both children and parents a “non-threatening” dental environment so that dental experiences are fun and exciting.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommend a child’s first visit by age 1. Early examination and preventive care will protect your child’s smile now and in the future.
Your child’s first visit is very important to us!!! Your child will always be placed with a pediatric dentist for their first visit, not a hygienist. This is important to us because this is your child’s first exposure in a dental setting and we want to make it an enjoyable one. We will assess your child’s oral and overall health, and speak one-on-one with parents to discuss diet, hygiene, dental development, and address any questions a parent may have.
We take sedation VERY seriously at our office. Our doctors have extensive training in sedation and anesthesia. Each doctor has completed an anesthesia rotation as part of their pediatric dental training, has had to perform multiple sedations, is registered by the DEA, and has completed their Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS). These certifications are all maintained and updated continually so we can be comfortable that your child will be safe in our care.
